European Parliament Elections 2004

In UK, the elections were on 10 June. Following the entry of 10 new states into the EU, the UK has 78 European parliament seats, compared to 87 before the elections.

Turnout across the UK was 38.4 percent. This is measured as valid votes cast as a share of the electorate.

The European Elections are on 4 June 2009. Voting is done in ten regions across England and Wales and seats are allocated in each region using a system of proportional representation.

In Österreich waren 6.049.129 Bürgerinnen und Bürger am Sonntag, 13. Juni, aufgerufen, ihre Vertreter im Europäischen Parlament zu bestimmen. Die Wahlbeteiligung betrug 42,43 % und liegt damit unter dem EU-weiten Schnitt von 45,5 %.

Die Europawahlen 2009 in Österreich

  • finden am 7. Juni 2009 statt
  • alle BürgerInnen ab 16 Jahren sind wahlberechtigt
  • alle UnionsbürgerInnen mit Hauptwohnsitz in Österreich sind wahlberechtigt und können sich in die Europa-Wählerevidenzlisten eintragen lassen
  • jeder Wahlberechtigte kann seine Stimme auch per Briefwahl abgeben
